Thanksgiving in Thailand
We had a great holiday as we celebrated Thanksgiving here this year. Some people from our kid's school decided to put together a Thanksgiving Day meal for all the community. When I say community I mean many different nationalities. Even though this is an American holiday we wanted to share it with all our friends.

Everyone brought a couple of dishes with them and then the main dishes, turkey and dressing, were made at the school. Needless to say it took many hands in the kitchen to get it all done. It was fun working together, that's Thai style.
In the end there was quite a spread, some traditional, some not so traditional but it was all good. We were so thankful for turkey because we can't cook turkey at home because we don't have a real oven, so this was a big treat. We had pizza for Thanksgiving last year.
I think there were close to 100 people there.
Samantha really enjoyed getting to be with her friends and family on Thanksgiving
And Davis enjoyed getting to play sports all afternoon before we ate that evening. They played basketball, soccer and American football. There were lots of young people there and his Daddy played as well.
Holidays away from most of your friends and family can be a little sad sometimes but as you can see from the smile on Samantha's face, this one went well, praise God!
And we ended our day by coming home and decorating the Christmas tree! |
