Sport Day in Thailand is a big deal. They have Sport Day at each Thai school and then they also have a Sport Day for all the teachers from all the Thai schools. This day was for all teachers in private schools in Chiang Rai. So our kid's school was invited to attend and here are 3 of our guys who participated, David being one of them. This was an interesting event. The guys had to run down the field like a relay with a bamboo pole between their legs. It was so funny to watch!
Every team always wants our big farang(not Asian) guys to compete in tug-of-war and sure enough, their team did win. That's David pulling hard near the end.
And here is the tug-of-war team that won! It really was a fun day!
Following Thai tradition the kid's school had Sport Day as well. They began the morning with a parade of teams. Each team determines their name, they have a specific color they all dress in, they make a flag and a cheer
This was the flag Samantha made for her team. They were the angry smurfs but they sure were laughing and having a lot of fun to be angry, as you can see below.
It's also a lot of fun because all the students are divided on teams with all ages mixed together. As you can see the younger ones love getting to hang out with the older ones.
And you have teachers and principals mixed in as coaches for the teams. This is our Thai principal.
