Chinese fun, food and friends

Last weekend our family was invited to join a group of Chinese students from our University for an authentic Chinese meal. We didn't know what to expect but really enjoy our classmates and wanted to join them. So we did, the whole family and our friend Mark who is here from the States living with us right now. We had a great time and so much fun! The girls and one guy cooked for us and when we got there we joined in the cooking as well. It was a wonderful meal with a ton of food so we all had plenty!

Me with my two classmates (Fang Ya Di and Jiang Jinn). They did lots of preparing and it was all great!

Samantha and Davis and I work with John George (his American name) to make dumplings. They told us that in China they have a big celebration and everyone comes over and prepares the food together so they can have much fun working as a team. We liked it that they wanted us to do that with them as well. We had a great time!

David helps the guys wash all the vegetables. We are going to have "hot pot".

The students really enjoyed getting to know our kids. The taller man with glasses is one of our teachers (he's Thai) at the University - Ajan Joe.

Time for the eating to begin!

They are always amazed at our height. This young man, Adam (American name) tried really hard to find someone to take a picture with that he was taller than. This is our friend Mark, from the States, in this picture with Adam.

They finally found the one that was shorter than them. Of course Davis is 12 and they are 20 but they were still happy. But he won't be shorter for long as you can tell.

They were quite impressed at Davis' ability to pose for a picture Thai style. He learned it from his Thai sister, Ghan, when she lived with us last year.
